THE PROJECT

Transforming conflict is a seminar inspired by the conflict issues that surround the Euro-Mediterranean region. In itself it aims at preparing youth workers and leaders to engage their youth groups in issues related to conflict and the transformation thereof. Exploration of personal experiences and case studies  in the fields of conflict resolution or transformation – particularly in multi-cultural settings enabled participants to leave with a more pragmatic approach and practical tools for empowering youth to address conflict at the personal or communal and societal levels.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE SEMINAR

As the discussion on peace and conflict unfolded, the participants had the opportunity to meet Mr Mustafa Barghouti on a personal level. Mr Barghouti is currently negotiating for a Palestinian state and has years of experience in politics and negotiation. He delivered a presentation on what is taking place in the Palestinian settlements and the erosion of areas such as the West Bank that has been gradually turned into a confinement.
